Pictures speak for themselves…

We at fun diving could talk for ages about the beautiful diving locations at El Hierro, but it is the pictures that say the most. In this gallery you will find new photographs from our guests, friends and ourselves, which capture the beauty of our surroundings.

Spotted Burrfish

This fish blows itself up within seconds, but takes a lot longer to deflate itself to its original size.

Rainforest

A tour around this island with a rented car is recommended. Where the passat clouds rain, you will discover a picturesque rainforest.

Bermuda Sea Chub

At your first dive you will be fascinated at the many swarms of fish in the area as soon as you enter the water.

Lava Formation

The waves of the northern Atlantic beat consistently on the coasts of El Hierro. The consequence is a breath taking formation where waves break wildly on contact.

Photographic wonders

It is not without good reason that professional photographers rave about Grouper as one of their top under water shots. Internationally known and a photographic highlight.

Yellow Grouper

Due to a pigment failure, Grouper are yellow on El Hierro. True or false? Come and see for yourself, you will not be disappointed.

Pine forests

We are not talking about a photo of a German pine forest, you will find miles of thick pine forests on the southern part of the island.

Las playas roque de la Bonanza

The island owes its outlook to lava coming from fiery volcanoes. Natural monuments from lava and ashes are there to be admired.

Grouper

A large Grouper seen at an unusual perspective. At close-up, it proves that this creature is more curious under water than shy.

Mirador de Isora

Make sure you take the opportunity to visit the point shown on the map with your rented car. These so-called Miradors are truly not to be missed as great focal points. It must to be seen.

Sun Fish

With a little bit of luck you will see this fish diving at the coast of El Hierro. These incredible collections of fish appear like they originate from the moon.

Pine

At El Pinar you will be able to view uncountable amounts of pine trees located at the hillside. A stroll through the village makes you forget that you are only 300 hundred kilometres away from the African west coast. Seeing burnt and darkened tree stumps reminds you that the sap flowing from the bark of the trees is easily ignighted in the afternoon sun.

Restinga Bay

La Restinga is actually an old refuge, whose population make their livelihood from fishing, with their small boats, earning themselves a healthy income from the huge quantities of tuna fish which inhabit these shallow waters.

African cuttlefish

The african cuttlefish who inhabits the sandy areas of the island is captured here lurking in the shadows of a moonlit night.

Tacaron Bay

Tacaron Bay is approximately a 2 hour walk west of La Restinga. There you will find a popular pizzeria to spend a pleasurable evening watching the sun set.

El Golfo Roques de Salmor

Frontera is located in the valley of El Golfo. The tourism here has nothing to do with diving.
